Straight answer
socialMeter does not count Instagram followers.
If you were looking for an Instagram follower counter, here is why this one leaves Instagram out, and what it can count instead.

Sample numbers. Yours appear once it is set up.
Why
Instagram keeps the count to itself.
- Meta closed the simple Instagram API (Basic Display) in December 2024.
- What is left, the Graph API, needs a professional account linked to a Facebook Page, a Meta developer app, app review for public use, and a token that must be refreshed before it expires.
- A small device that talks straight to the platform, with no server of ours in between, cannot do that reliably. So we do not offer it, rather than sell something that stops working.
Counters that do show Instagram run your login through their own cloud service, or buy the number from a paid data vendor.
Instead
What it can count.
If you post to more than one place, socialMeter can count YouTube subscribers or Bluesky followers. Selling on Instagram? Count Etsy sales or Shopify orders instead.

FAQ
Questions.
Will socialMeter ever support Instagram?
Only if Instagram offers a way for a device to read the count without a middleman. Updates are free and install themselves, so if that changes, existing devices get it too.
Is there a workaround for Instagram?
Not one we are willing to ship. The workarounds are a cloud service that holds your login or a paid data vendor, and both can stop working or start costing money.
What does socialMeter support?
20 platforms: YouTube, YouTube Live, Twitch, Kick, Bluesky, Mastodon, Telegram, Spotify, Last.fm, GitHub, npm, Docker Hub, Discord, Discourse, Steam, Roblox, Minecraft servers, Wikipedia, Etsy and Shopify.
